Introduction
Making really great whisky in England is paramount to what we stand for here at St. George’s.
St.George's Distillery, home to the English Whisky Co. became operational in November 2006 producing its first spirit soon after.
The Distillery is open daily throughout the year (with the exception of Christmas day, Boxing day, New Year's day), running regular tours of the working part of the distillery.
Gift Shop: open from 10am - 5.30pm selling a full range of our own products including items not found on our website and also an impressive range of unusual single malt whisky from around the world. In addition to our gift shop we have an online shop that sells all our products. These are usually shipped the following day.
Coffee Shop: open from 10am - 5.30pm, serving good coffee and tea and soft drinks along with cake and snacks. The coffee shop is inside the gift shop and is a great place to sit and watch the world go by if you don't feel like doing the tour.
Green Space: The distillery sits amongst a grove of cricket bat willows which run down to the gently flowing river Thet. You can take a stroll through the willows and along the river or simply sit and reflect on the fact that history is being made along with whisky as it is once again produced in England.
