Rosemary Slows Prostate Cancer Growth by Half in Vivo: In this remarkable study, rosemary extract slowed the growth of prostate tumors in mice by 46% after 21 days, while in vitro (in a test tube) it killed off a stunning 94% of human prostate cancer cells. Most intriguing was that the extract killed the cancer cells using a rarely seen mechanism: it disrupted their endoplasmic reticuli, which the cancer cells critically need to handle protein (normal prostate cells meanwhile, were left unharmed). Rosemary is a powerful anti-cancer herb which has shown great potential against all major cancers in lab studies. In human studies out of Europe, those eating this super-herb fresh at least once weekly appear to have 60% less risk of melanoma and 34% less risk of lung cancer. But rosemary’s health benefits don’t stop with fighting cancer. Clinical trials have shown rosemary to help improve kidney function in diabetics (when used as part of Canephron N), to protect skin from UV damage, and even to significantly improve memory in older adults (dose: 750 mg powdered herb daily). And men take note: topically applied rosemary essential oil actually increased hair count in men with alopecia after 6 months—performing just as well as Minoxidil in one clinical trial. So consider adding more of this super herb to your daily cooking, or as a warming tea.
