The Old Pecan Street Café first opened it's doors at 314 East 6th (Pecan) Street. This small structure was built around the turn of the century by Olive Brush the son of S.B. Brush who built the St. Charles Hotel next door. Over the years the previous tenants have been saloon keepers Chinese laundries barbers shoemakers saw filers and a drug store until 1972 when the Café became the latest occupant. In 1978 we moved our main dining room and kitchen to 310 East 6th street. This building was constructed by J.W. Simpson in 1905 for his new hardware store.... read more
