we visited this restaurant today it is a very classy restaurant with a nice worm decor. The personal was kind an we had a good time. The food was fresh and very tasty, I would recommend this restaurant to everybody. It's a nice classy restaurant for all kind of occasion. tripadvisor

“amazing experience”

my parents visited the place last week and were very pleased with the atmosphere and décor. The food was delicious!!!! The special course on the menu is the chicken with truffles and the special appetizer is the scallops with caviar!!!!!! They are very grateful to the owner (Alexander) for the service and they hope to visit the place again. Tripadvisor

“Perfect service and food”

The staff is very attentive and friendly. The food was excellent: tuna as entree, lamb as main dish were both of excellent quality and taste. The limoncello as a surprise at the end was great. As I had to drive I can't review the wine, but my colleagues said that even the simple house wine was good. tripadvisor


“Simply "superb"”

I went there for a dinner on a fine sunday evening in the Hague where most of everything was closed. We followed the trip advisor application and ended up there without any reservation before hand.

They offer menu for dinner. But we ordered a la carte. For the first course, I ordered
Slightly seared tuna fish marinated with soy sauce, sesame and poppy seeds. While my friend decided to go for seared scallops.

For main course, we had the following: Fillet of beef Rossini served with foie gras, truffle and Périgueux sauce (24.5 euros) and Rack of lamb with ratatouille and red wine rosemary sauce (24.5 euros)

The main dishes were served with potatoes which was very well cooked.

And we ordered a mix truffle ice-cream to share (8.50euros).
We didn't drink. And we ended up paying 46 euros each. But it worth every penny. The service was very good.

On another note, the bread which was served in the restaurant was freshly made. It was warm and it came with pesto butter and sth which is like a mix of olives. Very tasty.

They also offer free wifi and the waitresses speak very good english.

I visited this restaurant twice and each time the food was excellent. Fresh, tasty and absolutely delicious. Fixed price 3 course menu 25 euro, house wine of good quality Would recommend it anytime and to everyone. In fact my colleagues loved it too, which makes it an ideal spot for a business dinner. Very accommodating staff, and great food!

We made a last minute reservation here ...- a lovely and rare gesture compared to many restaurants
in the Netherlands. Atmosphere was cosy, with mixed international staff which was refreshing,
the tortellini was fantastic, and we'd definitely come back again! Prices were decent considering
the portions and quality of the food. Perhaps what left the best impression on us
was chef Alexander's charm - he went out of his way to make sure we were happy
and he seemed to be interacting with everyone at the restaurant! Highly recommended. Tripadvisor

We were with the 30 of us in Alexander for a team event.
The staff was very friendly, welcoming and available for any requirements we had. The varity of food in the Buffet was delicious and good balanced to any personal wishes (Vegeterian, Meet, Fish & Chicken)

Well worth the walk”

My hotel was next to the Plein in The Hague with lots of restaurants choices but to be honest I'd been disappointed with some of the restaurants so decided to walk the 10 minutes down the road to the Alexander.
Well what a difference, great food, excellent, friendly and attentive service and affordable prices. It's often the little touches that make the difference, like seeing you are on your own and not putting you in the centre of the restaurant, or offering you a complementary drink at the end of the meal. I can see why it is rated so highly and justly so. The set menu is great value and the chicken was superb. I had the Crepe Suzette to finish and it was just as it should be.

Good restaurants for me are not about having huge menus but more about doing a few dishes really well and this definitely falls in to that category. I'll no doubt be dropping in again. tripadvisor

“This Local Was Impressed”
Prix fixe menu at 27 euro each was an excellent value. Inventive, good tasting, quality ingredients and excellent service made for a very nice evening. Favorites were beef main course and killer desserts. Servers were attentive, encouraged us to taste three different wines (we settled on the server's recommendation), and were helpful with descriptions and our questions. Nice, cozy atmosphere that is subtle and allows the food to be the star of the show. I recommend, not because they are ever going to win a Michelin star, but because the food, service, atmosphere and location are perfect for date night or taking visitors out for a nice dinner. We were impressed.

“Very enjoyable evening”

We had the opportunity to host another couple atbthis retaurant last night. I must say it has become one of my new favourites in the Hague. The food was excellant, the service was terrific and the prices are quite reasonable for the quality provided.
I had two house specialties and both were excellant. Well prepared and expertly plated and served.

We made a dinner reservation after the recommendation of a friend. The service was really great and the menu and wine selection were very good. Though we made an attempt to refrain from filling up on bread, the two spreads (basil/parsley butter and olive tapenade) were too good to give up and we finished the entire basket! We had two starters (the tuna with sesame seeds was especially delightful!) and shared two different main meals. Everything we had was excellent and tasty. We did not have room for dessert but we can imagine it’s great too. Hopefully will try it next time!

This is a brilliant restaurant. The food was delicious and elegant, the staff was incredibly polite and friendly. I made the reservation online, and added that the reason of our visit was to celebrate a birthday. After our main course, the staff surprised us with a cake and lit-up candles, singing the happy birthday song. It was one of the best moments I ever had. Enjoyed this place on Sat night. Its family run and the people have their heart in the right place.
Food wise its modern Dutch with a hint of Italian and a touch of Russian. 27,50 buys a week menu
with 2 choices of starter and main course, and a-la-carte is around 9 for the starters and 18
for the mains. Best dish appeared to be the starter of prawns, artichoke and tomato and
there is nothing too flashy or out of this world. I enjoyed my ravioli filled with spinach and
ricotta to start and chicken breast stuffed with foi grass for the main. Nicest thing was
