My name is Mr Jonathan Park and I am a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon specialising in cataract surgery, medical retina and surgical retina. I am a fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, UK.

I hold a permanent Consultant NHS post at Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton and I also offer private eye care and surgery in Somerset (based at the Nuffield Health, Taunton Hospital or at Parkside Private Patient Unit, Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton) and Devon (based at the Medical Eye Clinic, Exeter).

Private treatments include cataract surgery (micro-incision, sutureless) with premium intra-ocular lens implants which include toric lens implants for astigmatism and the extended depth of focus lens implants (a new generation of multi-focal lens implants to reduce the need for glasses). I also provide lens capsule laser and the management of general ophthalmology problems.

Private treatments for retinal conditions include intra-vitreal injections for AMD (age-related macular degeneration), DMO (diabetic macular oedema) and RVO (retinal vein occlusion). I also provide retinal laser for a variety of retinal problems and also vitreo-retinal surgery (vitrectomy) for retinal detachment, macular hole, epi-retinal membrane, vitreo-macular traction and floaters.
