Introduction
One does not go to Bistrot de la Place for the lightest creations deriving from France's youngest and most innovative 'Cuisinier' but for wholesome, classics. Chef Norbert makes sure you will not leave this 'Enclave de France' feeling puckish.
Feel like taking your wife or mistress to Paris? This is the place. Need to talk a bit of business in an original surrounding? This is it. A lively family dinner with granny & kids? Yes, Bistrot de la Place is where you are welcome.
Classic's like Escargot's, Choucroute, Entrecôte-Béarnaise and Bouillabaisse are always featured. These and the daily specials will keep you coming back. For wine lovers there is a wine list to choose from. We started with the crisp-dry and highly aromatic Muscat Sec from the Côte Catalans ( 27,50) and the very interesting red Collioure 2000 from Dr. Parcé, a steel at 42,50. But a true French Bistrot always boasts the best possible house wine and that is exactly what Norbert & Marc pour in the original 'Pot Lyonnais' bottles. These have the heavy, centimeters thick bottom and contain possibly the best white and red house wine ( 4, 20 glass and 25, 20 bottle) in The Hague. The Costières de Nimes from the award winning Château Mourgues du Gres. The red is a mouth filling little dream made from Syrah and Grenache. This is what great house wine can be like. Classic dishes announced in chalk on the mirror clad walls. Are we in Lyon, Paris or Marseille? Maybe in Nancy? No this is the domain of Chef Norbert Tillard and Maître Marc CRUELLAS.
