Introduction
Visit one of the Norwich’s most prestigious addresses, with a new enthusiastic team, a confident style and positive attitude. Our simple aim is to restore this stunning building to its former glories. Its past include visits from Liszt & Paganini, Madame Tussuad and the dancing Noverre family.
Many of you may remember visiting the glorious cinema, perhaps taking tea with your Aunt, some of you will have used the address to take an exam, visit an exhibition, and even give blood! All those things are still taking place but there is so much more. Refurbishment of the cloakrooms, kitchen and galleries indicates the new direction of the House. We have injected life into the Grand Hall with a fabulous cake shop together with comfy leather arm chairs making an ideal meeting point for a cappuccino and a cup cake! The restaurant has a stunning new menu, with classic tiered afternoon teas enjoyed alongside pre theatre menus, signature salads, sandwiches and toasts, or simple sausage and mash!
The banqueting rooms are stunning! Is there a more beautiful room than the Music room with its chandeliers and minstrels gallery. With 7 meeting rooms and 2 grand ball rooms to choose from we can cater for all manner of occasions from weddings to private dining or conference to exhibitions.
There continues to be a real arts beat through the house with the Noverre Gallery, Hobart room, gallery cabinets and the Cafe all exhibiting some of the most exciting art work in the City. Music, too, is an important strand to our programme of arts activities. Classic music recitals, jazz evening, folk & acoustic music, even rock & blues are all regularly heard with performances in either the stunning Music Room or the elegant Noverre Ballroom.
One of Norwich’s finest building, located in the heart of the city, with superb culinary pedigree, and a warm and welcoming attitude. With so much happening the only way to keep up to date is to pay us a visit or download the events guide. If you do visit make sure you try Norwich’s best Chocolate Brownie!
