Introduction
Set in the picturesque Chapelfield Gardens in the heart of Norwich, just three minutes walk from the City centre, Pedro's has been a well loved part of Norwich nightlife for 20 years!! Popular with all walks of life from 5 to 95, Pedro's offers mouth-watering meals that appeal to all tastes. As you enter you are sure of a warm welcome from one of the friendly, (some may say slightly crazy!) staff. You notice the general lively atmosphere, Salsa music and the aromas emanating from the busy kitchen, where you can see the chefs toiling away preparing the tasty, authentic fare. Once seated you get the chance to glance around and take it all in. I've never been to Mexico but I'd be surprised if the Cantinas there aren't just like this. The interior styling is very well thought out. The rough plaster, sombreros, rugs and numerous other artifacts all add to the ambience, and make you feel like you're on holiday and sure of a good time! The new air conditioning system will ensure you stay comfortable in warmer weather.
All dishes are prepared daily on the premises from the best quality, local produce and finest imported ingredients from around the globe. The menu offers a tantalising selection of starters, main courses and desserts (although I challenge you to eat all three!). Mexican food is the main theme, although there is also a good choice of non-Mexican dishes, and a wide variety of vegetarian meals on offer (ask your waiter). The portions are, to say the least, very generous. I've heard of students surviving a whole week on just one main course! If you like a drink (who doesn't!) you will not be disappointed with the huge selection of cocktails, wine, spirits, imported beers, jugs of Sangria and frozen Margaritas. One speciality from the bar is Mescal Tequila, which is specially imported, with an extra ingredient. The challenge on the menu - "Will you eat the worm" - gives you a fair clue what this extra may entail!
Pedro's appeals to everybody - courting couples, busy families, shoppers and hungry students looking for (and finding) great value. Theatregoers are particularly fortunate, in that the Theatre Royal is just a stone's throw away. This makes Pedro's ideal for your `pre or post` Theatre supper. You may even find the star of the show seated on the next table! Pedro's real speciality is PARTIES. If you're looking to hold a celebration of any kind - birthday, anniversary, retirement, engagement or whatever, look no further! You are sure of a great time at Pedro's. Parties of up to 100 people can be accommodated (though please ring first!) The lively, vibrant and friendly staff will ensure that your party will really swing. Order the giant "Colossus Dessertas" to round off your meal ' serves 4-6, with allsorts of goodies and topped with sparklers ' tell them it's your Birthday, and they'll even sing to you! You and your guests will enjoy superb hospitality wearing the aforementioned sombreros and have a real night out to remember.
