We are a small team of qualified and experienced designers, gardeners and landscapers, offering a professional approach to both domestic and public outdoor spaces. Based in the Ryde, Cowes and Yarmouth areas and offering a service through out the Isle of Wight.

C.A.R. Gardens endeavors to offer a Natural and Sustainable Gardening Service, and maintains gardens with organic principles.
The company is owned by Craig Antony Ratcliff, who started his horticultural career in Maida Vale, West London as a Saturday shop assistant for 'Clifton Nurseries'. He gained further knowledge and experience working for 'London Gardens ' in Chiswick, and formed his own business in 2004, and relocated with his young family to the Isle of Wight in 2006. Craig has a BA HONS in 3D design.
Craig oversees a great team and is always on the look out for the next dynamic member.

Craig Ratcliff
Designer, landscaper and gardener
The owner of C.A.R. Gardens a national award-winning company. Craig is a garden designer, landscaper and organic gardener. His interest in gardening formed in childhood, and in 1999 Craig started his horticultural career working with ‘Clifton Nurseries’ in Maida Vale and ‘London Gardens’ in Chiswick. In 2004 Craig established his own landscape gardening business, and in 2006 relocated with his family to the Isle of Wight. Craig has a BA Hons degree in 3D Design: Ceramics.

David Cooper
Head Gardener.
David Cooper, gardener, turf culture specialist and team supervisor. David joined the C.A.R. Gardens team in early 2011 and brings with him a long carear in horticulture. David spent many years working for Guildford Borough Council and Sutherland Memorial Park which gained accolades under his leadership. Before joining C.A.R. Gardens David worked 4 years with another landscaping company on the Isle of Wight. David has many qualifications in Horticulture and Groundsmanship, and has successfully completed a Supervisors Development Course. David is our Surehand.

Sam Baxter
Landscape Gardener
Sam Baxter started working with C.A.R. Gardens in March 2008 after completing his A Levels and he quickly proved himself as a valuable asset, both in the gardening and landscaping teams. Whilst working full time with us he studied in the evenings to successfully complete a Diploma Level 3 in Site Carpentry. In September 2012 he started a degree in Product Design. Sam is now self employed and offers his valuable help during his breaks from study.

Warren Oldershaw
Garden designer and plantsman.
Warren Oldershaw is an award winning garden designer. Warren graduated from the Isle of Wight College in 2006 with a diploma in horticulture gaining a double distinction. Since this successful study Warren has worked with C.A.R. Gardens gaining further experience and knowledge in garden design, landscaping and caring for customers gardens. In November 2012 The Chemotherapy Garden at St. Mary’s Hospital on the Isle of Wight won a national award, a garden which Warren designed, helped to build and now maintains on a regular basis. Warren is a Friend of the ‘Society of Garden Designers’.
