Single Handprint Silver Pendant - Chain Style Curb
A single-sided classic heart shape keepsake pendant made in solid silver, bearing handprints and names of two loved ones. Names can be up to 7 letters max (see similar products in our 'modern heart' shape if you need longer).
Supplied with your choice of traditional curb chain or snake chain in sterling silver (any length, 18" recommended for women). We can also supply a 2" extender chain if you are unsure.
On receiving your order we send two inkless print-taking kits in the post. Our inkless kits comprise one wipe and two A5 coated papers for each set of prints (i.e. 2 wipes and 4 papers for this double print kit).
The wipes and paper are made by Nekoosa and are used every day in the US in hundreds of hospitals to take the footprints of newborn babies. They are also safe to use for taking paw prints from pets.
As part of your kit you will receive an instruction card and prepaid return envelope. You may also scan or photograph prints for return by email as detailed in the instructions.
To be clear about what you should expect, these items are made without machinery using hand tools and mostly hand polishing. This is common for similar products offered by other vendors and is considered a part of the personalised charm of the product. We believe that our expertise in this area generally leads to superior results than most other firms.
We aim to achieve something close to a mirror finish on the front of pendants, but there may be some irregularities on the plain side on the reverse, or other small imperfections.
Hallmarks & Findings
Our keepsake pendants are 99.9% silver (known as 'fine' silver) and you have our legally binding assurance that this is the case. However, we do not hallmark anything below the legal weight requirement to do so, as hallmarking for individual items would add considerable expense and delay (as well as a small risk of damage).
Approximate weight for each heart tends to be around 4g but does vary.
Necklaces are at least 92.5% silver (known as 'sterling' silver) and bear a small '925' tag to represent this. Jump rings used will be heavyweight sterling silver and left unsoldered to allow for future alterations, unless you request otherwise. Sterling silver is used for necklaces and findings because the additional alloy metals (mostly copper) add extra strength needed for such items.
We apply an anti-tarnish polish (and sometimes a protective wax over blackened areas) to your silver before shipping, but all silver will tarnish over time, eventually turning completely black as it oxidises with the air. We sell a number of silver cleaning and care products to help bring back the shine and we supply a mini microfibre polishing cloth from Town Talk with all keepsake orders.
