Introduction
We are a family run Pub / Restaurant in Nuthampstead (near Royston) Hertfordshire, with bed and breakfast rooms available as well.
Our thatched bar area is the only original part of the pub which still stands today and it dates back to the 17th century. Here, there is a large inglenook fireplace which is always roaring in the colder months and a bar area full of character (as are the locals!).
Our restaurant is a large extension which has been designed to fit alongside the bar but with a slightly more modern feel. There are low hanging, cast iron chandeliers and a wood burning fire place at the far end to give the room a cosier feel during winter.
We have a pool table, quiz machine and fruit machine but all of which are out of sight so as not to be intrusive on the atmosphere.
We have memorabilia displayed around the Inn from WW2 as the inn is closely linked with the 398th Bomber Group and there is a large memorial just outside the front of the pub. We have a children's play area, beautiful gardens and two resident ducks!
We have a marquee in the gardens which is available to hir for weddings and other functions.
Our food is fantastic and we take great pride in our cask ales and extensive wine list.
