Meet Our Team (2)

Marie Anderson
Founder and head baker
Brought up in London England, Marie has had a love for baking that was first inspired by her grandmother. Now, thirty years later, Marie has a science degree in Baking Technology Management and is the founder of Red Velvet Bakery.
Marie’s past was in Marketing and as co owner of IconZest, a digital communications consultancy, and as Marketing Consultant at the prestigious global digital solutions company IconMedialab.
A graduate of London South Bank University, Marie began her career in Online Communications in 1999. However her love for baking grew, and she often treated her friends and colleagues to freshly baked cakes, (carrot cake was her signature then) cupcakes and cookies. She joked that one day she’d own her own bakery.
In April 2003, Marie had her first child and began studying a part time Maria Montessori Teaching course to better understand her child and to satisfy a need to teach children. In 2004 the birth of her daughter was the catalyst in her thinking about a change in career, soon both her love for teaching and baking led her to leave her marketing career to pursue her dream of opening her own teaching inspired bakery.
Maries’ accomplishments stem from her dedication to her family and her passion to educate school children in the art of baking. As well as her degree and being trained in Montessori, E-Commerce, Sales and Marketing, Maries mission is to continue learning and to revive the independent baker through education and refining the art of baking.
Currently Marie is focused on evolving her quaint artisan bakery, which prides itself on using only locally-sourced ingredients. Her Signature Red Velvet Wedding and Celebration Cakes, afternoon treats of Buttermilk Scones, Biscuits, Cookies, Muffins, Cup Cakes, Cake Pops and Brownies are well sought after with bookings already reaching well into 2013.

Till O'Neill
Founder and Bakery Manger
Tilly O’Neill was born in London, England. She later moved to California with her family were she graduated high school with honors and attended San Diego State University. Her love for travelling then found her back in England where she studied the hospitality industry. After working with Adam Byatt at his new resturuant Bistro Union in Clapham, Tilly got to experience the in’s and out’s of running and starting a new business. Meanwhile Tilly also worked part time for Marie helping her fill orders. Tilly has always had a love for being in the kitchen, and particuarly baking. After assisting in the kitchen Tilly was offered a job as a chef, However turned it down to join Marie in the venture of moving to Sitges.
Her love for baking and being able to create and learn new things lead her to making this decesion.
