Introduction
Restaurant Paula McEwen is a fine dining establishment in Aberdeen’s west end, and runner up of Grampian Restaurant of the Year 2011.
The team is led by Chef-Patron Paula McEwen, a highly experienced chef who has worked in some of Scotland’s premier establishments including; The Witchery by the Castle, and The Number One Restaurant at the Balmoral Hotel Edinburgh; as well as The Marcliffe at Pitfodels, Aberdeen.
We serve an A la carte and tasting menu with wine pairing, Tuesday to Saturday, Lunch & Dinner.
We are a progressive restaurant that focuses on the basics of traditional cooking with modern techniques. Our chefs take inspiration from cookery styles around the world but use many seasonal and locally sourced ingredients with a modern approach.
Our aim is to ensure that each element of our cooking is flavoursome, beautiful, correctly seasoned, and well presented.
We do not pursue novelty, however we use liquid nitrogen, sous vide, dehydration, and many other non-traditional means, but these are only used to enhance the dishes.
All of our front of house staff are Wine & Spirit Education Trust beginner and intermediate trained by Great Grog, as well as completing barista trained by Caber Coffee Aberdeen, and speciality teas and infusions courses by Eteaket Edinburgh.
We aim to provide a service that is friendly, efficient and knowledgeable while being unobtrusive. This is appreciated by our customers and often remarked upon in our comments cards and online reviews.
The Paula McEwen teams’ commitment to exceed customer expectations through creating innovative food and professional service is the motivating force behind everything we do. Paula McEwen has a fantastic team of talented individuals with outstanding technical skills, knowledge, and imagination, with chefs and waiting staff working in parallel to create excellent food and professional table service.
We are aggressively innovative and creative with our menus and dishes; enthusiastic and focused about customer service; invest in the development of our team through professional training, competitions and technology; all this and more helps ensure our Restaurant is continually changing and improving to provide the best dining experiences to our customers in the local area.
We believe that each employee is equally important and a vital part of our ongoing success.
We look forward to welcoming you to our Restaurant in the near future.
