Introduction
Kiss My Bundt Bakery is a Los Angeles-based bakery that specializes in delicious, made-from-scratch bundt cakes and southern-inspired confections.
Our cakes are moist, delicious, and baked in small batches throughout the day, every day. This means we can ensure youre getting the best, freshest cake around.
We are in the business of making your mouth water. Whatever you need, we've got your BUNDT covered! ®
Our Philosophy on Food:
We bake our cakes from scratch, using ingredients that you can spell, pronounce and find at your local grocery store. Baking from scratch is an old art that we're keeping alive. Our menu is transfat free and contain the highest quality ingredients like Belgian Chocolate and Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla. We have the ability to make vegan and lactose-free cakes. We are currently working on sugar-free options.
Organic or Local?
We use organic products when possible and are very conscious of our "food miles"--this means we try to get our ingredients from local sources or sources as close to our bakery as possible. Minimizing "food miles" is just all around good for the planet because we help to build a sustainable local economy and we minimize the gas required to deliver our ingredients to our door.
I grew up in the South where baked goods, bundt cakes, and made-from-scratch desserts were as much a part of my childhood reality as the sweetened iced tea that accompanied them.
I learned to bake as a child in North Carolina, shadowing my Aunt Dia who was an amazing baker. I started my first bakeshop at the age of 7 using the Easy Bake® oven I begged my mother for. Since those days I've gone on to earn a Bachelors Degree in Public Policy and a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Southern California. After years working in the government and nonprofit sector, Bundts called me back to baking!
In 2005, after the demand for my signature bundts increased, I decided to turn my baking hobby into a business. I also did it because a fortune cookie told me to. Seriously. I went to lunch with friends in Chinatown, and the fortune cookie I picked read this fortune: "You will start a successful small business." The insight of the cookie was not lost, and Kiss My Bundt was officially open for business two weeks later.
As a native southerner, but long-time Los Angeles resident, I strive to provide traditional southern recipes with an LA-style makeover. The result? Delightfully delicious cakes in three very convenient sizes to satisfy even the pickiest of cake eaters.
Affectionately dubbed "The Bundt Babe", I have brought my passion for bundt cakes and southern confections to Southern California through my shop and my new cookbook, released November 2009, called Kiss My Bundt: recipes from the award winning bakery."
