Introduction
Situated in the High Street of the picturesque village of Otford in the Darenth Valley just 100 yards from the only listed duckpond in the country. Forge House is itself a Grade II listed building. Built in the 16th century, this restaurant was originally three one-up one-down cottages, situated next door to the Blacksmiths on what was the main Pilgrims' Way from London to Canterbury.
The former cottages were converted from a private house into tea rooms in the 60's. Then becoming the Forge House Restaurant. Low beamed and retaining much of the original character, it is cosy and welcoming which contributes greatly towards a relaxed and intimate atmosphere.
