Introduction
At Fallen Heroes, we believe in evolution - which is why we have done our best to evolve our studio to the next level, growing in tune with a flourishing industry.
There is no aspect of your visit that we haven't taken into consideration - tattooing is no longer the bastion of sailors and bikers, and we've adapted to give you a warm and comfortable client experience. You're choosing an artwork to carry with you forever, and we're dedicated to making it something you'll be proud of for life. We put the emphasis on one-on-one client meetings, and custom design work for each piece we produce.
We have four great artists to choose from, which makes for a versatile shop portfolio. Tattooing is pushing the boundaries as an art form every day, and all of our artists are driven by the desire to constantly better themselves. We're confident that between us we can tackle almost any style you might be interested in - but more so, we have a deep enough respect for both the art of tattooing and our customers, to know when to steer you in a better direction.
Beyond that we offer a wide range of piercing, and carry a selection of body jewellery as well as catalogues from which we can order just about anything you might require. We also stock a small range of clothing from niche tattoo inspired brands, and to top it all off, have developed our own range of Fallen Heroes dual-stage aftercare - making the healing process as seamless and straightforward as possible.
With experience in multiple shops both locally and abroad, we've put our heads together to push our hygiene standards to the limits. While there are no hazmat suits in effect, all of our disposable supplies are high quality and single use - and our day to day equipment is after each use run through an ultrasonic cleaner, a rigorous scrubbing procedure, packaged and autoclaved. The rest of the studio is subjected to hospital standard disinfection before and after every procedure.
But it's not for us to sit and sing our own praises - take some time to browse our portfolios, and come down and visit the shop yourself, and have the experience.

Meet Our Team (4)
Bryan Du Rand
Tattoo Artist
In high school my favourite time of the day was always art class,
especially when it was a double. It always gave me the freedom to sit
and draw for hours without having to worry about a thing. When I was a
year out of school I got my first tattoo and that's when I decided
that this is what I want to do with my life. To this day I still have
the same passion for the art form as I did in 2009 when I started
tattooing. Part of that passion comes from being able to say to
people: "I draw pretty pictures for a living...what do you do?"
Although my style is versatile I do still have my favourites. I enjoy
Photo Realism, Neo-traditional and Japanese tattoos making use of
bright bold colours!
I also like getting my hands dirty with other mediums such as
painting,illustration, lead and sculpting.
I'm constantly inspired by my colleagues as well as international
artist such as Nikko Hurtado and Jeff Gogue
I'm always ready for my next challenge so BRING IT ON!

Jan 'MUNKY' Giebelmann
Tattoo Artist
It took Jan ‘Munky’ Giebelmann a while to figure out exactly what he wanted to do with his life. Sitting at a desk, in front of a computer wasn’t cutting it. Neither was working out in the country, shovelling shit.
But as soon as he picked up a tattoo machine, it became an instant extension of his arm, and he’s never looked back since.
It all started in 2005 under the guidance of John Edwards, co-owner of Tattoo Crew in London (then owner of Black Star), and Marcus van der Tuin, resident artist at Cape Town’s Wildfire. Drawing from their experience and direction, Munky formed his own creative identity – a traditional style, influenced by bold colours and artistic individuality.
When he’s not doing what he does best at Fallen Heroes, Munky’s filling up a guest spot around the country. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Seth Arcane, Uncle Allan, Myke Chambers and Jim Sylvia, as well as the great artists he has had the privilege to work with, Munky’s hunger for industry knowledge is never satisfied, and he has his sights firmly set on stints in New Zealand, Australia and possibly even the US of A.
“I’d like to make your tattoo appointment more than just a permanent work of art, but also an experience that you’ll look back on and think, ‘Fuck! I had a blast!” – Munky.

Thys Uys
Tattoo Artist
Since he can remember, Thys has been in love with art.
Spending his time with realism and fantasy drawings - he needed an outlet, and found it through tattooing.
Thys has been a tattoo artist for roughly 4 years now, and has in this time found his niche.
He finds inspiration by marrying the true essence of realism with a vivid imagination and abstractionism.
He has an undoubtable talent in fine arts and a skilled eye for depth and detail.
This allows Thys to add his signature to whatever ideas he may be presented with.
During his time as a tattoo artist, Thys has built up an esteemed reputation that now precedes him - and tattoos many of SA's celebrities,
including John Vlismas (Comedian), DJ Fresh and DJ Catherine (5FM), Pippa Tshabalala (The Verge) and The Parlotones!
He was also invited to do a guest artist spot at the infamous Westside Tattoos in Colorado USA in 2011 and will return to the States this year to tattoo in Las Vegas!
