Introduction
Adventure Motorcycle Tours - Transylvania Live is specialized in BMW motorcycle tours and rental services in Transylvania, Romania, Eastern Europe. We operate our motorbike tours using BMW motorbikes - the GS range, recent year of fabrication: BMW G650GS, BMW F800GS, BMW R1200GS and BMW R1200GS LC.
We run tours from 4 day short breaks, 7 days motorcycle tours to 18 day multi-country adventures in Eastern Europe and we love every mile of these rides. And yes, there is a Hallowween on Weels motorbike adventure in Transylvania with a smashing Halloween Party and draculish events. Only for the strong hearted riders.
The most crooked and challenging of Europe's roads for motorcyclists is called the Transfaragasan (Transfagarasan Pass – 2042m above sea level), second highest mountain road in Romania. It was built between 1970 and 1974 as a military route, by communist dictator Nicolae Ceausescu (after the Soviet invasion of Cehoslovakia in 1968). Due to the high altitude the road is open only 3 – 4 months per year and you can find walls of snow on the side of the road even in July. The road has been reffered to as The best in The World by BBC Top Gear Jeremy Clarckson.
Another experience is the thrill of the mountain winding roads and breathtaking views on Romania’s highest mountain road – Transalpina (2 145m above sea level). It is literally a ride to the clouds on one of the most spectacular roads of the Carpathian Mountains. Called The King's Road by the locals, Transalpina was built under the rule of King Carol II of Romania and rebuilt during World War II by German troops.
The third highest mountain Road, but the newest in Romania is Transbucegi - Known as The Old Ladies Road – Transbucegi is a narrow, sinuous road leading up to Bucegi Plateau, close to The Old Ladies and The Sphinx – which are famous Romanian rock formations shaped by the Wind. 1925 m in altitude.
Transylvania area is The best region in the World to Travel in 2016 according to Lonely Planet Travel Guide.
According to them - the best city in the World to Travel in 2016 is Kotor in Montenegro. The city of Kotor and Kotor Bay motorbike ride are also included in our 18 day multicountry motorbike adventure in Eastern Europe together with Transylvania best roads, Dalmatian Coast (Croatia), Iron Gates Natural Park - the Serbijan Side, rides trough Slovenia and around Ohrid Lake Albania & Macedonia.
It is all about discovering what’s behind the next corner, meeting other people that share your passion and enthusiasm for adventure touring, having a traditional dinner, washed down with local drinks at the end of a riding day, exchanging experiences, stories.
