Revisor Dorner 4/8 Cut Throat Razor

The Revisor Dorner Cut Throat Razor is handmade and finished in Solingen, Germany.
To this day, Revisor razors still carry the Solingen trademark. This trademark confirms in German law that the name Solingen may only be used when the item was processed and finished in all major stages of manufacturing in the Solingen industrial area.
In other words, German made, quality assured.
These razors leave the workshop in a 'shave ready' condition. However the cutting edge of the razor (the fin) may bend over ever so slightly. Stropping will right the fin. This razor should not need honed for at least 9 months if stropped properly. We recommend you watch some YouTube tutorial videos before your strop this razor.
To prevent corrosion, after use, you must dry the razor thoroughly and store in a dry environment. The razor will benefit from a light application of razor oil if it's going to be stored for more than a few days between use.

About the Dorner: The blade has a polished mirror type finish. The tang is stamped '41 Albert Dorner Haan-Solingen' and on the flip side 'Made from Kayser Ellison & Co's Best Sheffield Silver Steel'. The scales are inlaid in silver with the word 'Solingen'.
The Dorner has a 4/8th of an inch wide blade, ideal for a beginner to cut throat razor shaving and for an experienced shaver who is looking for a top notch 4/8 razor.
The 4/8 Revisor razors we sell are New Old Stock (NOS). The razors were originally made between 50 and 70 years ago and were held in storage by Revisor until 2013 when they were polished up and stropped to make them shave ready. These razors have never been used. The razor has been stropped and tested before it left the workshop, it comes to you shave ready.
HOW TO USE
Ensure the razor is shave ready, strop beforehand if required.
Lubricate the bearded area with lather from a good quality shaving soap or cream, for best results use a shaving brush.
For a close shave, we recommend that you shave twice with the grain and once against the grain.
We strongly recommend you watch some tutorial cut throat YouTube videos BEFORE your first shave.
You only need to apply minimal pressure, let the razor do the work.
This razor is extremely sharp, please be careful.
