The Razor: This is the famous Le Dandy Cut Throat Straight Razor. This straight razor with black scales is perfect for those new to open razor shaving and for experienced shavers who are keen to grab a bargain.
Blade Finish - Sheffield carbon steel
Blade Dimensions - 5/8'' round point
Handle Finish - Black celluloid
The face of the blade is acid etched with the words 'Le dandy'". The tang is stamped with the Thiers-Issard crown logo and the words 'Thiers-Issard, Made in France'
The Strop: One side has a rough leather finish, perfect for realigning the fin (cutting edge) of the razor. The smoother flip side is ideal for stropping the fin to get the razor into a shave ready condition.
This leather strop is 3 inches / 75mm wide with a working length of 12 inches / 305mm.
This is a fantastic set for someone who is interested in learning the art of the Cut Throat Shave.
The razor is factory classed 'shave ready'. Even so, the razor will likely benefit from stropping before use.

Lubricate the bearded area with lather from a good quality shaving soap or cream, for best results use a shaving brush.
We strongly recommend you watch some tutorial cut throat YouTube videos BEFORE your first shave. It can take many shaves to become skilled in the art of the cut throat shave.
You only need to apply minimal pressure, let the razor do the work.
