It is hard to believe that a local family business in East Hamilton Ontario, Right Way Auto Repair, has remained open for 10 years! We opened our doors as a full service automotive mechanical repair centre in May 2009 and, today, we are proudly celebrating our 10th year anniversary.
It has been an incredible ride despite the ups and downs (and there have been plenty of both). The best part of the ride, however, is all the wonderful friends we have made along the way. Many of our customers have become very close friends, and this friendship is priceless. It is always great to see a returning customer. We often catch up and talk about their children and spouses. We even know the names of their pets!
All of us at Right Way Auto would like to thank you, our customers, for the ten remarkable years of warmth and friendship! We absolutely couldn't have done it without you. Nor can we take the next steps without your help.
Right Way Auto is indebted to our amazing Team for their tireless dedication to the customers we serve.
A million thanks to all of you!
Here's to the next ten years!

What are diagnostics and why do I need to pay money for them?
A common misconception surrounding vehicles these days is that an automotive service technician needs only to "plug in a computer" to find out what is wrong with his or her customer's vehicle. While plugging in a scan tool to your car's computer can offer a glimpse into what might be wrong inside, that scan is not a diagnosis in itself. Much like your doctor performing a blood test, a mechanic performs a diagnostic scan as a starting point to locating (and fixing) a particular problem. The scan will indicate the general area of the concern, much like a blood test could tell your doctor that your blood sugar is low. After that, it is up to the technician to check the associated systems and components to locate the actual problem. This could be anything as simple as testing a battery for proper voltage to something as complex as taking apart an intricate wiring harness or disassembling the top half of your engine.
When you pay your technician to diagnose your vehicle's problem, you are covering the cost of his or her time to work on your vehicle. For every hour that a technician works, he or she is required to be productive and work only on jobs that he or she is being paid to do. You are paying for that person's expertise, education and the usage of their tools. After all, you would not expect your veterinarian, plumber or any other professional to work for you for free! Becoming an automotive service technician takes four years of apprenticeship, two years of college and up to $20,000.00 or more in tools and technical equipment. This isn't even considering the cost of the large equipment owned by the actual shop, like the hoists, tire machines and alignment racks. Many people will contest that the cost of diagnosing the concern should be included in the cost of the repair; however, the cost of the repair covers only the time to remove and replace the broken component. It does not cover the time that is needed to determine the problem in the first place.
Whenever you have a question about your vehicle's diagnosis, be sure to ask your service adviser. He or she will be happy to explain the procedures required, show you any parts that you wish to see and allow you to talk one-on-one with the technician if needed. A good service adviser will always inform you of any diagnostic charges before the actual process begins and keep you updated as the diagnostics progress.

Automotive Red Book Appraisals
Automotive Red Book appraisals are used for those who purchased a car or truck privately. It often occurs that the MTO requires you to pay a higher amount of taxes due to a higher estimated retail value than what the vehicle was actually purchased for on a private sale.
By coming to Right Way Auto, we will appraise your recently purchased vehicle and get you a retail price which is lesser than what the MTO UVIP package suggests.
