Ormeggio at The Spit

In the tradition of Italy, we welcome any excuse to socialise over a meal.

Ormeggio is the Italian word for mooring or berth and when you are in our waterfront location you will understand our choice of name! We are located in d'Albora Marinas, The Spit, and are literally built over the water.

Owned and operated by well known Chef Alessandro Pavoni with his front of house long time work colleague and now partner Fraser Guthrie, these two professionals have their dream job ' their own water front restaurant in beautiful Australia, welcoming and satisfying guests with their cuisine and hospitality.

Alessandro hails from the northern Italian region of Lombardia, particularly the town of Brescia. He believes that there is no such thing as 'Italian�?� cuisine, but more 'Regional Italian Cuisine�?�. Each region in Italy can be as different as between countries. Alessandro has tried to stick to his regional roots as much as possible in his menu, and all dishes that are unique specialities of particular towns in Lombardy have their origin mentioned.

Lombardia is a region of mountains and snow, of game animals and of course warmth of hospitality. This welcome, at minimum, is one of the Italian cross-regional traits! Combined with Fraser's Scottish humour and friendliness, Ormeggio really is a special place to visit.
