Introduction
O'Keefe's was established in 1961 by Bill O'Keefe. O'Keefe's consisted of only the Tap Room seating about 50 people. Bill's son Frank was a member of the famous Outlaws Band. OKeefe's was a frequent hangout for the band. They enjoyed classics like the Yuk Burger and the Seven Course Irish Dinner.
Bill O'Keefe died in 1969 and Joe Smith took over. During this time O'Keefe's added on the new addition known as the "Cedar Room". Sometime between 1972 and 1973 a car ran through O'Keefe's demolishing everything inside. Luckily O'Keefe's managers had just closed up minutes before and no one was in the building. The car was stopped by the brick pole, only taking a chip out of the side. The pole still stands today near the bar. The famous naked lady picture, that was rumoured to be a painting of Bill O'Keefe's wife, remains hanging in the "Tap Room". The painting was torn at her belly button from the horrific car crash. If you take a closer look you will see a band aid covering her "scar".
Mr Smith owned O'Keefe's for about eleven years and then sold it to the DuQuesnay Family. Father and son Tony and Garth DuQuesnay bought O'Keefe's in 1980. It has been family owned and operated every since. O'Keefe's is now owned and operated by Garth, Terri, Danielle and Travis DuQuesnay. Tony and Garth made O'Keefe's small annual St Patrick's Day Celebration into one of the largest private parties in America! With over two tons of corned beef and semi trucks of green beer, the party keeps getting bigger and better!
O'Keefe's is known for their great food, service, and atmosphere. Some of their staff has been here from nearly the beginning. Mike Lane has been creating O'Keefe's masterpieces and managing the kitchen since 1978. O'Keefe's has been a Clearwater landmark for years. Our commitment is to provide everyone with exceptional food and service.
We take pride in our business and our community. Thank you.
