Large Format Litho Printing

Large format litho printing is a niche & unusual process and unlike B1 and B2 printing there are not many suppliers equipped to help you. The requirements for artwork can be different and the engineering idea's for POS displays can seem like a foreign concept. Large Format Screen Printing

Screen printing, again has different requirements and capabilities and whilst it does not give the resolution for halftones and images than can be obtained on a litho press it can be suitable for many print jobs. POS boards that are made with solid colours and vector shapes work best but halftones can look just as pleasing when viewed from 5 metres away or further. Set ups can be far less expensive than Litho printing too making Screen printing more suitable for low to medium print volumes.

Large Format Digital Printing

Digital printing is the fastest developing technology in the print industry and printers can find that there machines are old technology within a few years. There are roll fed machines and flatbeds that are usually used for different purposes and types of work. Flatbeds printers are capable of printing onto rigid substrates with the print head moving around over the top of the material instead of being fed past the print head on a roll fed machine. Resolutions can vary greatly with higher resolutions typically taking longer and being more expensive. PVC banners, short run posters and proofing are often produced by roll fed printing whilst dibond, foamex, re-board and other rigid materials will be produced on a flatbed printer. Flatbeds are often the choice for printing lenticular print too with 3d printing effects, movements and image switching.
