Introduction
A recently restored XIV century farmhouse, once believed to have been a monastery, situated in a 500 acres organic teaching farm, in the Pietralunga Forest, a lonely natural area not far from Gubbio. Guests accommodation comprises a total of 3 houses (the Oak, the Marble Gall and the Old Barn) with charming rooms and suites, each named after a local tree; an organic restaurant, an acorn-shaped swimming pool and a riding-ground let you to aspect unforgettable nature holidays (here you can explore the Wizard’s Garden with Gino or prepare the real hand-made pasta with Silvana and Mamma Raffaella).

Gino Martinelli
owner, organic farmer and guide
He got a degree in Agriculture at the Perugia University, and a Master in Vegetation Analysis at the Ancona University.
Since 1990 he leads with Silvana, his wife, the family farm, a 500 acres in the Carpina Valley, Upper Umbria, introducing the organic farming method, a wood management based on natural forestry, and the ecotourism.
In 1998 he realized the Wizard’s Garden, an open-air ecology lab inside the farm, transforming it in a teaching farm.

Silvana Nardelli
the cook
she takes care of guests, organize activities for children and, mainly, she prepares delicate food with local recipes inside the farm restaurant. She also organize with her mother, Giuliana, short courses for “traditional handmade pasta”, for Italian tourists and foreigners.
